Previous Club Teams in Dallas:

Open:

Drunken Lemurs — Early 2000s open team that was a combination of Nacogdoches and Dallas players. Finished as high as 9th at South Regionals. Nothing could stop a Drunken Lemur, neither a broken neck nor a broken femur. Noted for running a Euro offense both on and off the field with a propensity to switch and/or play zone when talking with the opposite sex.

Grit–

Grassy Knoll–

Jnor–

My Bad–

Plasticville – Played two seasons as an open team from Dallas/Ft. Worth/Anywhere players would come from. Competed head-to-head with Dallas Crude though never pulled out a win against their more practicing adversaries. Had players from their 40s to their teens. Once played a tournament in College Station in July with 8 players, losing three games on ultimate point. Also an opposing player on their sideline once said, “Oh, that’s disgusting,” after a team cheer that compared ultimate to the Dallas adult nightlife.

Women’s

Ovary Action–

TWSS–

Weird Alice–

Mixed

Conspiracy Theory–This team came together for 2010 from a mix of players who had played Open and Women’s.  They made it to Nationals in their first season as a team.

Hang Time– An elite level team that placed 2nd at Nationals and went to Worlds.  They helped up Dallas on the Ultimate map.

Varsity Disc – Beginner level co-ed team in the mid-2000s that spent more time on its costumes than it did on ultimate. Managed to not finish last at sectionals on a few occasions. Gave birth to the FuN (Friday is Ultimate Night — Still in existence) game in the Village, the disc size jell-o shot (aka the “Disc of Hate”) and probably consumed as a team more $1.50 doubles at the VCC than they scored points in their entire run. Even they’d admit their game was best at the bar. At least two marriages and two babies (that they know of) resulted from this team.
